As part of a joint venture, Gaston Construction provided construction management services to the University of Alabama at Birmingham for the construction of the North Pavilion, a project that included ten stories of new patient care, six stories of new medical office space, a new central chiller plant, a pedestrian bridge, major subsurface utility relocations and extensive streetscape improvements. After the project began, UAB identified additional funding and decided to increase the scope of the project considerably. By working closely with UAB accounting staff, Gaston successfully maintained cost control on the project.
